JFS 1.0 Installation
- Stop your JIRA instance
- Download JFS plugin JAR file and place it to
JIRA_HOME/plugins/installed-plugins
- Download JIRA patch according to your JIRA version:
jfs_jira_4.0.2_patch.zip
for JIRA 4.0.2jfs_jira_4.1.1_patch.zip
for JIRA 4.1.1jfs_jira_4.1.2_patch.zip
for JIRA 4.1.2
For JIRA Standlone:
- Make a backup copy of your JIRA installation;
- Unzip JIRA patch ZIP file to
atlassian-jira
folder of JIRA installation.
For JIRA WAR/EAR installation:
- Unzip JIRA patch ZIP file to
edit-webapp
subfolder of JIRA build folder; - Build JIRA and redeploy it to your application server.
Finally, start your JIRA and navigate to Administration->Field Security->Update History Entries to update issue change history records (follow the on-screen instructions).
License is needed for the plugin to operate. To get an evaluation license:
- Navigate to My Account
- Create a new evaluation license under Licenses tab.
- Copy&paste generated license data to Administration->Field Security->Licensing page of your JIRA instance.
- Evaluation license will be valid for 30 days. After that you should purchase a commercial license.

Upgrading to Fresh Version
- Make a backup copy of
JIRA_HOME/jfs
folder to save JFS configuration in case smth goes wrong; - Download fresh JFS plugin JAR file and replace your current version of JFS in
JIRA_HOME/plugins/installed-plugins
with downloaded file; - Restart your JIRA instance.
Upgrading 1.0beta1 to 1.0beta2
Due to changes in internal storage subsystem starting from version 1.0beta2, you will lose your configured field security schemes after upgrading from 1.0beta1 to 1.0beta2.
If you want your security schemes converted to new format, please archive $JIRA_HOME/jfs/neo.db
folder and send it to support@quisapps.com.

inJIRA_HOME/plugins/installed-plugins
with downloaded file; - Restart your JIRA instance;
- You can reuse your existing evaluation license; navigate to My Account on quisapps.com, copy&paste your evaluation license data to Administration->Field Security->Licensing page of your JIRA instance;
- Navigate to Administration->Field Security->Update History Entries to update issue change history records.

JIRA Compatibility
Please note that JFS plugin version 1.0b1 is compatible with JIRA 4.0.x only.
- Download jfs-1.0b1_bundle.zip from Atlassian Plugin Exchange
- Unzip it; inside zip file you will find:
- jfs-1.0b1.jar
- jfs-1.0b1_jira_patch.zip
- Stop your JIRA instance
- Copy jfs-1.0b1.jar to JIRA_HOME/plugins/installed-plugins
For JIRA Standlone:
- Make a backup copy of your JIRA installation;
- Unzip
jfs-1.0b1_jira_patch.zip

For JIRA WAR/EAR installation:
- Unzip
